Oh that I could have dinner with the late great Ed McBain, the author who got me hooked on police procedurals. We’d have a beer (or 3) and hamburgers in some dark bar (sitting with our backs to the wall) and discuss…stuff. One of my treasures is a signed Ed McBain book!!!!

  2. Rachel says:

I would like a visit from (a hopefully coherent) Bob Dylan. I would love to hear more about the stories behind his music and all that he has seen.

  3. Bonnie Franks says:

A guest you might find in my guest cottage or room would be any one of several ex–husbands. I would love to serve them dinner one last time. Think Agatha Christie. Did I say that out loud?

  4. Lynn says:

My guests would be black sheep on all sides of the family. The door would close and lock. The would be taken to an alternate universe where they would be treated as they treated Their family members.

A guest you might find in my guest cottage would be, of course, Sarah McCoy along with Lisa Genova. They have 2 different writing styles and different types of books. It would be great to have dinner and a glass of wine, and just talk about ideas and books. I feel I could learn a lot about writing from these 2 authors and could perhaps start my book that I have been dying to write. My book is nothing like theirs, it would be based on being a survivor of several traumatic events in my life and how it has made me stronger. They could help me to make my dream come true.

Lisa Scottini and Adriana Trigliani. Have heard both speak and they are hilarious. Got to speak to them and they are warm, genuine women. Some wine and discussing books/authors off the record— what a treat!

I love when the family gets together and tells stories of their childhood. I especially love to hVe the little ones around. They need to know about their history and are often fascinated by the things their grandparents and great-grandparents did when they were young.

  8. Rhonda Gothier says:

A big fireplace in a log cabin with two comfy chairs, a big comfy sofa, pillows…..walls of books, lots of hot chocolate and food! My best friends from childhood! Lots of laughs, memories, and love! Sounds perfect!

  9. Susan Roberts says:

Dream entertainment would be Pat Conroy and his wife Cassandra King. We would have dinner together somewhere near Beaufort SC and Pat would cook – because he is a great cook. Gee, I guess that means that he would be the host but, hey, this is my dream! We would all talk about Southern authors and the books that I hope both of them are working on. Doesn’t that sound like a great evening???

  10. Barry Collins says:

My idea guest(s) would be someone less fortunate than myself. I would take them to a dinner at a restaurant and then to a store to purchase them an outfit to keep them warm for the winter.

  11. Jennifer C says:

My guests would be my late brother and late grandparents. I would just love to see them all one last time and hear their laughter!
